In a more general sense, I really liked your formatting. I really felt as if I was inside Pete's head, sudden jumps from one thought to another and all. It worked really well. And the small details are great — Pete remembering that he's powerless, the whole description of Buddha (I feel like Buddha would like Andy), the scratchy grass, Pete hating the taste of pomegranate. And okay, no matter how many times I read it, the line about the bass thwarting Pete always makes me snicker.
